Towing & Anchor Handling Winches

In the early 1960s, INTERCON pioneered high linepull winches for the most advanced workboats operating at the time. Intercon’s anchor handling winches replaced “towing machines” as the standard for the offshore oil market. These incredibly powerful machines were critical to the development of offshore oil and gas fields in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea during their formative years. Many of Intercon’s earliest winches are still in service today, operating on their third or fourth vessel. To this day, Intercon’s primary design criteria are strength, durability, and safety above all. While technology has evolved over the years, it remains true that an Intercon winch built today, and maintained properly, should serve its owner for more than 50 years.
